
Rowena Maiden BA(Hons) MIACP
Rowena holds a BA (Hons) degree in integrative counselling and psychotherapy from IICP College Dublin. She also holds an IACP (Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) accredited Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Zestlife College Dublin. Rowena is a fully accredited member of the IACP. She was awarded academic student of the year having achieved first class honours. She similarly holds certificates in CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) and Anger Management. Furthermore, she has also attained advanced Certification in Adolescent psych, has a Professional Certificate in couples therapy, a distinction post-grad professional qualification in Transactional Analysis (a form of psychological behavioural analysis) and a post-grad diploma in behavioural psychology. Rowena’s most recent achievement is attaining a Diploma in ABA (Applied Behavioural Analysis) which she weaves throughout therapy specific to clients with Autism, ADHD and challenging behaviours.
Rowena offers her clients a supportive, safe and accepting environment that is built on trust and confidentiality. Rowena’s experience works with a range of issues including; Anxiety, Depression, Low-self Esteem, Body Image, Disorderly Eating to include under-eating and over-eating. She also has a special interest in behavioural patterns associated with ADHD, ASD and ADD. Bereavement, loss, couples, family and trauma therapy are also areas close to her heart. Rowena works from an integrative model of therapy; incorporating Person-Centered, Psychodynamic, CBT, Pluralism and Schema Therapy. Therapy is tailored for the clients depending on the presenting issues of each client. Rowena’s calling has been for many years to sit with the brokenhearted. Her relational style puts all at ease.
Rowena is Married to Mark Maiden for more than 25 years. She is also a mother to two young adult children aged 21 and 23. She is the co-founder of www.angelflight.ie where she and her husband provide FREE non-emergency transportation to children and families who have been affected by illness or mental health struggles. Rowena has been a keynote speaker at women’s conferences, mother-and-daughter weekends and parenting courses. She has worked in drug rehabilitation centres, runs life-equipping workshops and believes that being safe, seen and soothed will help us get through the darkest of times.
